"There are many Steely Dan followers around the world, but the real favorite is Monkey House. It is a one-man project of keyboardist/singer Don Breithaupt, who is based in Toronto, Canada. Don is a well-known composer and arranger in the Canadian film and TV industry, and is also active as a film/music writer. His research book "Aja", published in 2007, was introduced in Japan as "Steely Dan Aja: Composition and Lyrics" (DU BOOKS), and attracted the attention of urgency-type music fans.
"HEADQUATERS" is Monkey House's third original album (they also have an edited version). Featuring Michael Leonhart (tr) and Drew Zingg (g), support members of the original Steely Dan, the album coolly expresses their passionate love with a live band sound throughout.
