"THA MASTA BLUSTA" is the debut album of ILLMARIACHI, a legendary unit consisting of Hazu and TOKONA-X, released in 1997 and is a monumental work in Japanese rap. In 2017, the 20th anniversary of the release, under the supervision of Hazu, the two songs "NAGOYA QUEENS" and "Younggunz" have been replaced with unreleased, treasured original lyric versions that were included at the time, and all the songs have been newly mixed and mastered, making this a miraculous <20th Anniversary Edition>!

◆ Marley Marl, also known as Hazu from Owari, Nagoya, is known for his dope activities not only with ILLMARIACHI but also with his units with TWIGY, BEATKICKS and KEMURI PRODUCTION, and as OBRIGARRD, which is releasing evolving dance music to the world. After ILLMARIACHI, he continued his activities as M.O.S.A.D., and then signed with DEF JAM JAPAN as a solo artist, making a brilliant major debut, but the big young master, TOKONA-X, who suddenly passed away in 2004, formed the legendary unit ILLMARIACHI in the Japanese rap scene!

◆ In 1996 they appeared at Sanpin CAMP as Hazu & TOKONA-X, making a huge impact on the Tokyo-centered scene, and the following year in 1997 they released "THA MASTA BLUSTA," which is now talked about as an undisputed classic!

◆ This album, released following their shocking debut with "Araryouji" and "NAGOYA QUEENS", is a highly concentrated blend of Hazu's eccentric and original super crazy music and TOKONA-X's hard-boiled hood rap with Nagoya dialect at the forefront! It includes many classic songs, such as the original version of "Beat Mokusomonee Karakikina", which was remade by DJ RYOW with the participation of Hannya, Kan aka GAMI, R-Shitei, AK-69 and Zeebra, and is being re-evaluated in the midst of a growing enthusiasm.
