PETE FINE "On A Day Of Crystaline Thought" CD

★First limited production ★Paper jacket specification

Rich psychedelic folk from the NYC underground scene in the early 70s! A fantastical and mysterious world of sound created by Pete Fine, the leader of the legendary psychedelic hard band The Flow, in his solo performance!

The original LP was pressed in 1974, and this extremely rare edition, limited to just 100 copies, has finally been revived in a new look!
A free spirit from the New York underground set off on a musical adventure in 1974.
Pete Fine formed his own band, The Flow. Their only album, The Flow's Greatest Hits (1972), was a one-of-a-kind sound that combined heavy psychedelic rock with a trippy feel and a deviant artistic sense, and was supported by enthusiasts as an answer to Blue Cheer from the East Coast. It has been loved as a cult classic, with a Japanese CD release in 2023. However, one day, Pete was inspired by Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 playing on the radio and decided to write orchestral music himself. After visiting the Lincoln Center, a comprehensive art facility in New York, many times and teaching himself how to read, write and compose orchestral scores, he embodied his own musical vision in "To the Day of Crystal's Thoughts."
Featuring strings, flutes, French horns, and trumpets centered around Pete's 12-string acoustic guitar, this album is thrilling in its experimental approach to orchestral music. The progressive development of "Revelation - Overture - To Sam" and the performance reminiscent of acid pagan folk take flight from the present world to another dimension. On the other hand, the album also inherits the harder side of The Flow, with a new version of "Meditation" (the album's original title On A Day Of Crystalline Thought is taken from the lyrics of this song), a new version of "Meditation" from The Flow's era (the album's original title On A Day Of Crystalline Thought is taken from the lyrics of this song), "Bijinkies" which is an extension of The Flow's "Bijinx", and "Life" and "Bijinkies" which fully demonstrate Pete's skills as an electric guitarist. After this album, Pete has built his own unique musical style that fuses guitar and symphonies, and this album is important as a major turning point in his career.
This album was pressed in 1974 as a limited edition of 100 LPs, but it barely made it to stores, and was discarded when Pete moved from New York (he moved around a lot before settling in Tucson, Arizona). For this reason, it is said to be a "phantom" album that even avid psych collectors have never heard. In 2000, it was reissued by the German rare psych label "Shaddox," and its name quickly became known. This reissue is the first in Japan. With remastered sound sources and a paper jacket CD, it has attracted a lot of attention from enthusiasts around the world.
