In 1971, the hard rock giants ravaged both sides of the Atlantic! The only album by this "phantom" band that formed in London, England and made their debut in America will be released for the first time in Japan!
ORANG-UTAN has captured the hearts of enthusiasts with their bluesy, acidic hard rock reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and Leaf Hound. Their sound, which combines heavy guitar riffs, twin leads intertwined with their high-pitched shouts, is still striking even today, half a century after their release, but the band broke up after only one album. Although they are from the UK, the complicated circumstances of their album debut only in the US meant that they were not easily distributed, and they have carved their name into rock history as an underground legend known only to those in the know, but their full picture is finally being exposed to the light of day. Hunter formed in the late 1960s. They performed live around London and even played with Genesis and Mott the Hoople. They recorded an album in half a day. The recording was released in America without their knowledge! This is this album. "Orang-Utan" is the only album by the band, which was short-lived due to such a strange fate, but its songwriting and performance are amazing. The aggressive "I Can See Inside Your Head" (M1) and "Chocolate Piano" (M4), the wet sad melody of "Love Queen" (M3) and "Fly Me High" (M6), and the progressive "Magic Playground" (M8) are comparable to the top bands of the time, and are filled with all the energy of the members, who were 19-20 years old at the time. Orangutan disbanded after just one album, but guitarist Mick Clark has left his mark on the music scene, working with Davy Pattison (Robin Trower, Montrose) and Long John Baldry. The official release of "Orang-Utan" in Japan is the moment when the lost chains of hard rock are reconnected.
