Anthony Moore "Lead Whistle & Sticks" CD
★First production limited edition paper jacket
★1 bonus track included
Slapp Happy's Anthony Moore has received rave reviews for the reissue of his lost album, Out. Another elusive album, "Lead Whistle & Sticks," was originally scheduled to be released by Polydor in 1972, but only 12 test discs were made. Now it has been miraculously reissued in its original jacket design!
■Anthony Moore, founder of the avant-pop band Slap Happy, which is also popular in Japan, and who also played in Henry Cow, produced this third solo album in 1972 under the production of Uwe Nettelbeck, who also produced Faust, but it was rejected for release by his label at the time, Polydor, due to its excessively experimental content.
■Only 12 test LPs were pressed, making it an ultra-collectible item among enthusiasts, with prices ranging from 400,000 to 600,000 yen.
■For this reissue, Yasushi Utsunomiya (ex. After Dinner) worked with Anthony Moore to create a definitive remaster by playing a nearly unused test LP while dripping distilled water on it. This creates a vivid acoustic space that is very different from the 1998 UK Voiceprint reissue CD. Please enjoy this unique soundscape, which is experimental yet strangely comfortable and sometimes shows unexpected developments, at as loud a volume as possible.
■The original cover, discovered at Uwe Nettelbeck's house, will be released for the first time in the world. This will be a truly miraculous reissue.
■As a bonus track only on the CD, the unreleased work "Stimmgabel" (Tuning Fork), which was produced around the same time as this album and which has an interesting relationship to this work, is included.
