MONKEY HOUSE "Crashbox" CD
★Supervision and commentary: Kanazawa Toshikazu (Light Mellow)
The long-awaited new album from Monkey House, the greatest Steely Dan follower of the modern era, is released after a three-year hiatus! This is a masterpiece that has reached the highest quality in both music and sound to date! A must-listen for all AOR fans!
"Monkey House's fifth release in Japan is their best work yet. Based on their traditional Steely Dan predilection, this album offers a wider range of sound textures. In addition to their approach to jazz funk and acoustic sounds, their use of horns is reminiscent of Chicago, another big band that Don Brauthaupt respects..." -- Kanazawa Toshikazu
This is the seventh and latest album by Monkey House, led by Don Breithaupt, a Canadian composer/arranger/keyboardist/singer and author of the Steely Dan study book "Aja". This masterpiece shows more sophistication and depth than the previous album "Remember the Audio" (2022). Unfortunately, this was the last recording by Drew Zingg (g) before his death.
