The Mighty Soulmates were formed by four people: Andre Simon, an artist/singer/songwriter/producer who was Prince's original bassist before the Revolution; Mick Murphy, a singer/songwriter/producer/guitarist who was a member of The System and Jack Sass Band; Saint Paul Peterson, a keyboardist for The Time and lead singer of Prince's group The Family; and Gardner Cole, a songwriter/producer/musician famous for his work with Madonna. This is a legendary session that was recorded in 1993 and has been unreleased for over a quarter of a century. The album "Vol. 1", released digitally only in December 2021, is now available on CD exclusively in Japan. I was amazed by the high-quality sound that beautifully blended sophisticated funk, emotional R&B, and New Jack Swing flavors. Thank you for bringing it out of the vault! This is one of them. As it is "Vol. 1", I'm looking forward to the sequel.
