MOONPIE "Moonpie" CD

★Limited Edition First Pressing
★Paper Jacket Specification

The masterpiece album by the funk-soul band, Moonpie, known for its sophisticated sound and high quality that impresses even soul, funk, and AOR fans with superb covers like Stevie Wonder's "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" and Tower of Power's "Ebony Jam," is being reissued with new specifications! Furthermore, the original record, which has become extremely expensive, is finally being re-released on colored vinyl!

This is the only album released in 1977 by Moonpie, an 8-member, mixed-race (Black and White) and mixed-gender funk-soul band based in Nashville, Tennessee. It is an essential item for diggers due to its rarity, and its high-quality sound has captivated soul, funk, and even AOR fans with its thick funkiness from the three-horn section (trumpet, trombone, and saxophone), the mellow lead melodies played on the electric piano, and the sweet chorus work involving five band members in addition to the lead vocalist. Moreover, out of 9 tracks, 7 are covers of famous 70s songs that were popular at the time, including killer tracks by Tower of Power (M1), Steely Dan (M4), Commodores (M5), Eddie Harris (M6), Brothers Johnson (M7), and Creative Source (M8), which reproduces the arrangements of Earth, Wind & Fire! Among these, Stevie Wonder's "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" (M3), with its exquisite arrangement that transitions from a slow bossa nova to an elegant samba in the middle solo part, is an absolute must-listen! [1977 Work]
