Lucid Express『Instant Comfort』CD

Hong Kong's globally active shoegaze band, Lucid Express, releases their 2nd album 'Instant Comfort' after five years! A new chapter for Lucid Express, packed with influences from shoegaze to guitar pop, begins here!

Formed in 2014, Lucid Express is a leading shoegaze band from Hong Kong that has successfully completed numerous tours not only in Asia, including Japan, but also in the UK and US. Since the release of their debut album 'Lucid Express' in 2021, their momentum has only grown. They have performed at festivals such as 'LEVITATION' in Texas and Hong Kong's prominent 'Clockenflap'. This year, they not only completed a successful US tour as headliners but also expanded their reach by being the only Asian band to perform at the newly launched shoegaze festival 'SLIDE AWAY' in LA/NYC, alongside acts like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Nothing, and Her New Knife.

'Instant Comfort', their first album in five years, features a wider variety of songs, reflecting the band's growth through their experiences and connections made while traveling the world. The first single from the album, "Something Blue," flawlessly combines dreamy beauty with heavy reverberation. Kim Ho's vocals and melody elegantly float above the grand, ever-expanding guitar sound, conveying a newfound confidence. Songs like "Promise Me" and "Dark Glass," which open the album, combine swirling shoegaze-like guitar sounds with more emotional vocals than ever before. This explores an approach the band has rarely attempted within the shoegaze genre, ultimately expressing the extremes of emotion.

The album marks a new chapter for Lucid Express, featuring tracks like "Setback," characterized by a jangling guitar sound reminiscent of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (the band of engineer Kurt Feldman), and "Take Heart," which showcases a brilliant fusion of dream pop and guitar pop.
