Anne Briggs, the British folk singer who had a huge influence on Bert Jansch and Jimmy Page, released her memorable debut album in 1971! This album has been re-released with four additional previously unreleased tracks from the newly discovered "lost tapes"!

■Anne Briggs' eponymous debut album is widely regarded as a landmark in any folk collection. Originally released on Topic Records in 1971, it features Briggs' signature songs, including "Blackwater Slide," which she famously taught Bert Jansch (for his album Self-Portrait [Jack Orion]), and "Go Your Way," which she co-wrote with Jansch. In 2023, "lost tapes" containing four previously unreleased recordings from the album sessions were rediscovered in the Topic vaults. This reissue will feature four additional tracks.

Anne Briggs never sought commercial success or widespread public recognition for her music, but she was a major influence in the British Folk Revival and was a source of inspiration for the songs and music of A.L. Lloyd, Bert Jansch, Jimmy Page, Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson.

■A timeless, eternal masterpiece that will capture your heart with a voice that is filled with rare beauty, expressiveness, and strength.
