Eddie Motta "Behind the Tea Chronicles" CD
Brazilian groove master Eddie Motta, who has absorbed everything from Brazilian soul and MPB to AOR, urban soul, boogie funk, and city pop, has finally completed his long-awaited latest album!
With a mellow feeling and groovy sound in the vein of his recently released "AOR" trilogy, and high-spec production that rivals that of Steely Dan, a band for whom he has the utmost respect, this is a worthy masterpiece that took five years to create!
The band members are Brazilian first-timers Alberto Continentino and Michel Limma, horns are from Detroit, and strings are from Prague (Czech Republic), making this a recording with the utmost care! In addition, legendary musicians such as Paulette McWilliams, the original vocalist of Rufus, a female singer from Chicago who has performed with Quincy Jones and Marvin Gaye, and Phillip Ingram of Switch, who debuted on Motown-affiliated Gordy and took the world by storm, also participated!
