Kinkajous "Being Waves" CD

The latest release from the notable quintet KINKAJOUS, who inherit the lineage from Manchester, which has produced artists such as GOGO PENGUIN and MAMMAL HANDS and is evolving in its own way, from the borderless expanding UK jazz scene! Produced by Brendan Williams, who has also worked with GOGO PENGUIN, Dutch Uncles, Werkha, and others, this hybrid sound is a sign of the further evolution of "UK jazz", crossing over acoustic jazz with electronics and orchestration!

Formed by saxophonist/clarinetist Adrien Cau and drummer Benoit Parmentier, the band released their first EP, Staring At The Odds, in 2016. While working mainly in London, the band added the current members and released their first full-length album, Hidden Lines, in 2019. The album was recommended by BBC RADIO/Gilles Peterson and was selected in the BEST 10 of TOP OF ALBUM 2019 by MR BONGO, a long-established record label and shop representing the UK. They also appeared at festivals such as Bluedot Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, and EFG London Jazz Festival, and sold out their show at the prestigious London club JAZZ CAFE, attracting attention from all over. Their second album, "Being Waves," their first in two years, features Manchester-based producer/engineer Brendan Williams, who has worked with GOGO PENGUIN, Dutch Uncles, Werkha, and others. Like their previous album, it features a hybrid jazz sound that heralds a new evolution of UK jazz, with a minimalist, tight beat and a crossover of electronics and orchestration!
