MARC RIBOT'S CERAMIC DOG "HOPE" CD
The avant-jazz/rock trio Ceramic Dog, led by Marc Ribot, a genius guitarist who has stood out in the New York scene from the 1970s to the present, is set to release their first album in three years! The unique sound of sharp, hard guitar intertwined with a borderless groove, and the strong message following on from the previous work, as the title "HOPE" suggests, are a signpost to break through these chaotic times!
Ceramic Dog, led by Marc Ribot, who received enthusiastic support for his third album "Why Are You Still Here?" released in 2018 and his amazing performance in Japan in the same year, has finally completed his long-awaited fourth album! The band is supported by Shazad Ismaily (Bass/Key), a famous player who has performed with Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Tom Waits, and Chess Smith (Drums/Percussion), a first call in the NY avant-jazz scene and highly acclaimed in the rock scene, and the ironclad three-piece band follows on from the previous album, and they welcome Ribot's guitar and vocals, which are overwhelmingly powerful, with a strength and versatile groove that is no less powerful! This work was recorded in the midst of a global pandemic, under unprecedented tension, and the significance of the title "HOPE" and the birth of a masterpiece that resonates with Ribot's strong message!
