Turbulence is a progressive metal band formed in 2013 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, a country with religious and ethnic diversity due to its location on the border between Europe and the Arab world and facing the Mediterranean Sea. The band has steadily grown in strength by hosting live events in their hometown of Beirut where they play songs by Dream Theater, which they claim to have been a major influence on them, and in 2015 released their first album, Disequilibrium. Their grand worldview, which unfolds with a progressive and technical style directly descended from Dream Theater and lyrical melodies that tug at the heartstrings reminiscent of European prog metal bands such as Haken and Tesseract, has attracted attention in the local metal scene in Beirut. After that, once the current lineup of the band was complete, they began working on a new album, won a contract with Frontiers Records, an important Italian heavy metal/hard metal label, and will release their latest album, Frontal, worldwide in March 2021. They are a band that will lead the next generation of prog metal scene.
