Released in 1990 amid the hustle and bustle of Madchester, this was Karima's third album and his final work with Factory. It's a very fresh album with a stronger jazz-bossa influence than ever before, and all the tracks fit neatly into a modern, chill-out flow. This is a solid, timeless work that shows the band's true evolution, with the opening jazz-funk number "Shine," the bossa jazz tune "A Thousand Signs" with its soothing percussion and flute, and "Unreal" featuring Anne Quigley's exquisite, floating voice. Two club-friendly remixes of "Shine" by Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge, and the album's producer Tim Oliver, are included as bonus tracks.
