Rock and roll provided a sense of relief after the harshness of Henry Cow. This shelved 1976 album by Anthony Moore, founder of Slap Happy and also a member of Henry Cow, is being reissued in its original cover art!

That was the idea running through Anthony Moore's head at the end of 1975. Of course, leaving Henry Cow meant the breakup of his band Slapp Happy, as the two groups had essentially merged the year before. But Anthony still had more to offer, and, for his cynical nature, a career in pop seemed like a good option. He signed a solo deal with Virgin and did some sessions with producer Peter Jenner (Kevin Ayers, Roy Harper, etc.) and the new generation of British progressive musicians, including Andy Summers, a pre-Police member. But the great sound was not released until the CD came out in 1997. Now, with original artwork by Hipgnosis, it is being released. It's hard to believe that this superb avant-pop album was shelved (or was it?), and now it's back as it should have been. Slap Happy's Peter Blegvad and Kevin Ayers also participate.
