Since his first album "Marmalade" released in 2006, Pokey LaFarge has consistently expressed American roots music such as early jazz, gypsy swing, country blues, and ragtime as the music of the present. Following his previous album "Manic Revelations" released in 2017 from Concord/Rounder Records, he has moved to New West Records, which has released Dwight Yoakam, Rickie Lee Jones, Delbert McClinton, and others, and this work is an Americana that is fitting for the start of the 2020s, where he has further evolved while maintaining his consistent style! The producer is Chris Seefried, a top producer in the current US scene who has worked with Lana Del Rey, The Kooks, Joseph Arthur, etc. The horn section heard in the previous work was intentionally removed, and Pokey's desire to bring out the vocals and lyrics and his singing spirit can be felt.
