◆To commemorate the visit of West Coast singer-songwriter Ned Doheny to Japan, we have released the first Japanese edition of Ned's latest album, "The Darkness Beyond The Fire." When it was originally released in 2010, it was a hot topic as the first new album in 17 years since his previous album, "Between Two Worlds" ('93), but since it was a self-released album, it was not widely distributed in Japan. Although it is a self-remake album that mainly re-records songs from the 1990s and later, the content is truly wonderful, and Ned's fresh singing voice is irresistible even now, with a breezy West Coast sound with organic warmth and a supple groove. In addition to top-notch performers such as Don Grusin, Greg Mathison, Gary Mallaber, Michael White, Jimmy Haslip, Cat Gray, and Lewis Conte, the chorus also features Joseph Williams (TOTO), Marilyn Scott, and Leslie Smith (Ex-Crackin'), making the album a highlight.
