WORKSHY "Wayward" CD

★Supervision and commentary: Kanazawa Toshikazu (Light Mellow)

"Someday, somewhere again... This is the first new album in six and a half years from Workshy, a light and mellow urban pop unit from London. His crystal clear voice will take you to a stylish future world, just as it has always been." - Kanazawa Toshikazu

Workshy, a popular urban pop unit from London consisting of Christa Jones and Michael McDermott, has completed a long-awaited new album six and a half years after their previous album, Bittersweet! Their debut album, The Golden Mile (Someday, Somewhere), had a smash hit in Japan with "Love Is The Place To Be," and since then they have been as popular as Swing Out Sister and Matt Bianco. Their light mellow sound, based on R&B, JAZZ, FUNK, LATIN, and BOSSA NOVA, is also influenced by pop masters such as Burt Bacharach and Todd Rundgren, and Christa's clear, beautiful voice is, needless to say, superb. The cover of Smokey Robinson's "Quiet Storm," which sounds even more dreamy than the original, is also a pleasant surprise. In addition, the Japanese version includes a 2017 remake of the 1993 hit "Heaven Sent"!
