The Serenites Band, a French band that inherits the blood of its founder, Mulatu Astatke, releases an Ethiopian jazz-funk album! Many of their classic songs are brought back to life in a new way!

The album includes covers of classic songs released during the golden age of Ethiopian jazz from the 1950s to 1970s, including Mulatu's "Yegelle Tezeta," which is also known for being sampled by Nas and Damian Marley!

A new generation Ethiopian jazz band! The Selenites Band is a group of musicians led by Anthony Larrou, also known as Obi Riddim. This notable band based in France, heavily influenced by Ethiopian jazz from the 1950s-70s, has finally released their debut album! While retaining the nostalgic melodies and exotic flavors that are unique to Ethiopian jazz, the album is full of groove, funky and danceable content that perfectly blends elements of current jazz funk from label mates Estrada Orchestra, The New Mastersounds and Lettuce!
