Roosevelt is a solo unit by Marius Lauber, a young producer from Cologne, Germany. They debuted in 2012 on the label Greco-Roman, run by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip, and the title track of their first EP, "Elliot," released the following year, immediately won Pitchfork's "Best New Track." They also made a name for themselves by supporting Hot Chip on tour, and their first album, "Roosevelt," released in 2016, was highly praised in Europe and the United States. Despite not having a Japanese release, it was a hit here in Japan as well.

Two and a half years later, his long-awaited second album and Japanese debut, "Young Romance" is now complete! The colorful pop sound, which is a straightforward expression of influences from 80's synth pop, disco pop, Balearic, etc., is a natural evolution from his previous work, and the melody and sound production are exceptionally catchy and high quality. And the light dance beat with a faint sadness once again fits the heartstrings of us Japanese people. This album is packed with gems of pop sound, including the lead single "Under the Sun" and "Forgive" featuring Washed Out, a senior in this genre.
