Mime "Capricious" CD

Mellow forever, groovy forever

The long-awaited first album from Mime, a talented neo-R&B band that also serves as support members for Kan Sano and Michael Kaneko, is complete! This first album is built around the bittersweet vocals of Hikari, and is sparkling, tight, and simple in structure. The sound they have created, which can be called "neo-R&B", is a natural R&B that is different from the conscious sounds of INDIE R&B and FUTURE SOUL.

The first album "Capricious" by new generation R&B band Mime is finally here! This natural R&B by the young generation of today is different from bands that incorporate the essence of black music into pop music. From the soul, funk, and jazz of the 70s and 80s to the R&B, neo soul, and hip hop of the 90s and 00s, and the boom of various indie bands centered in Tokyo to the 80s revival, this new generation of bands absorbed everything at the same time and by chance landed on R&B. All of the new songs are single-level worthy, including the pre-release 7-inch tracks "Driftin'" and "Driftin' - Kan Sano Remix," the happy disco-style crossover tune "MK1," the light soul number "Dreams Of Love" that highlights Hikari's singing voice, "Division" that features tight drums and synth work, and "Waterside" that marks the climax of the album! In addition, four songs, including "Let Your Love Grow," which was released exclusively for download and ranked 5th on the Spotify Viral Chart when it was released, have been remastered, resulting in a more powerful finish. In particular, the CITY POP/AOR-style "This Summer," which follows on from the end of the previous song that is reminiscent of that super famous summer tune and starts with the sound of a rhythm machine, is sure to be this summer's best song! Simple, catchy and sad, a cross between "back in the day" POP and R&B. Everyone has been waiting for a band like this!
