Mouse on Mars "Dimensional People" CD

German electronic duo Mouse on Mars are back with their long-awaited new album, Dimensional People, their first in six years and the most original in their 25-year history.

■Mouse on Mars (MoM), a Berlin-based electronic duo consisting of Andy Thoma and Jan St. Werner, have had a major impact on the scene with their innovative work full of experimental spirit and playfulness. This is their first new album in six years and they are releasing it on Thrill Jockey.

■The first note of the first part of the album opener, the title track, immediately draws you into the world of MoM. While it has the influence of Chicago footwork/juke, the original electronic sound is stimulating, as if to say, "Mouse on Mars is here!" The overall tribal and hypnotic sound, including the pedal steel jumping around (reminiscent of Nigerian street music and Fuji giant Barrister's masterpiece "New Fuji Garbage"), is a masterpiece that can only be described as a masterpiece.

■The guest list is extremely impressive and numerous, including Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Zach Condon (Beirut), Spank Rock, Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National), Swamp Dogg(!), Lisa Hannigan, Amanda Blank, Sam Amidon, and others.
