Johnny Alf "Inadvertent - The Unreleased Album" CD
An exquisite unreleased album by the great "father of bossa nova" Johnny Alf has been unearthed! A new masterpiece to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the birth of bossa nova in 2018!
Legendary Brazilian pianist/composer/singer Johnny Alf (1929-2010) is considered one of the "founders of bossa nova" as he fused jazzy sounds with samba before Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joao Gilberto. His unreleased recordings have been unearthed! In 1991, eight wonderful songs were recorded at the legendary Transamerica studio in Rio with virtuoso musicians such as Ricardo Pontes (sax, fl) and Claudio Jorge (g), all of which were original new songs at the time. The composition is also wonderful, with a well-balanced arrangement of vocal numbers and light instrumental jazz samba, and it's hard to believe that such a good recording was shelved. This is a must-listen for all bossa nova fans, as it is full of the essence of bossa nova from start to finish. Additionally, as bonus tracks, seven precious live recordings from that time, provided by Johnny's family, have been added.
*Please note that because we are using an old master, there are some parts of the live recording that are difficult to hear, but we have recorded it considering the rarity of the recording.
