J. LAMOTTA Suzume "Conscious Tree" CD

J. LaMotta Suzume, a talented artist from Tel Aviv who is also known for her relationship with Ira J, the younger brother of the late J. Dilla, a legendary producer who made a mark in the history of hip-hop, has finally made her debut!

Originally from Tel Aviv, currently based in Berlin, J. LaMotta Suzme is a beatmaker, singer, rapper, and talented instrumentalist. Having previously collaborated with Russ G and Ira J, she has finally released a new album! The release will be from the prestigious German label JAKARTA, which has also produced works by Ira J, Lord Echo, and Benny Sings!

This is a superb futuristic mellow soul album featuring mellow keyboards and silky, organic vocals, including deep neo-soul numbers "Expressing Myself" and "Koalala You," reminiscent of the sounds of Hiatus Kaiyote and Jordan Lakay, jazzy hip-hop tunes "Who Is Who" and "Purple Attitude," which are a direct successor to the sounds of Russ G and Ira J, and the spacey, floating tune "Everybody Needs The Sunshine," which, as the title suggests, is reminiscent of Roy Ayers' historic classic "Everybody Loves The Sunshine."
This is a fantastic album, filled with style reminiscent of singers Erykah Badu and Jill Scott.
