GRAYSON GILMORE "Otherness" CD
*Commentary: Junnosuke Tenjo *Includes 2 bonus tracks
Is this the chamber pop of the future? Or perhaps electro-pop in the name of art? The extraordinary talent Grayson Gilmore makes his astounding debut in Japan!
An overwhelming masterpiece album has been born, updating the lineage of talented singer-songwriters with a sense of song and innovation, such as Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens!
Grayson Gilmore, a young genius born in New Zealand, has completed a wonderful new album! Since he started recording at home at the age of 16, he has continued to release high-quality self-releases, and is currently releasing from Flying Nun Records, the most important label in the NZ indie scene. He is a talented artist who has attracted a lot of attention in his home country, such as being a member of the post-punk band So So Modern (he came to Japan in 2012) and having won numerous awards as a film composer. The reason for this is immediately clear when you listen to his latest album, Otherness. The electro-acoustic sound is woven in a three-dimensional and intricate way with a craftsman's attention to detail, and the beautiful melodies float with a faint sentiment. This work is a rare masterpiece that is both a cool and grand acoustic pop work and at the same time a very personal and warm SSW work. It is time for the world to notice this overwhelming talent.
