MEDLINE "Old Souls Carnival" CD
★ Exclusively released on CD in Japan
★Bonus track commentary included *Hosono Katsuaki
France's Madlib! Multi-instrumentalist and powerful beat maker, Medline! A funk-rare groove beat album created by freely manipulating raw sounds and fat tracks!
Up until now, releases have only been on vinyl! The Japanese CD edition includes 6 bonus tracks, plus covers of his signature hip-hop classics, Redman's "Soopaman Luva 3," and the Heath Brothers' famous "Smilin' Billy Suite Pt II," which is also the source material for The Beatnuts' "Ya Don't Stop"!
This artist released a cover of Roy Ayers' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine" from the famous German label Melting Pot, which was highly praised by both funk and hip-hop DJs, and became a hot topic. His previous album "People Make The World Go Round" released in 2013 was composed of covers of classic songs, starting with JC Davis' "A New Day," which is famous for being a rare deep funk, and including the Stylistics' "People Make The World Go Round" and Donald Byrd's "Wind Parade." This album "Souls Carnival," which shines with his characteristic thick beats and a sense that has been refined by his digging spirit, is definitely an album that will appeal to both funk/rare groove and hip-hop fans.
