HI-FIVE "Legacy" CD
HI-FIVE, the original R&B group known for the song "I Like The Way" that everyone fell in love with, has released a new album that all R&B fans have been waiting for!!
The long-awaited new album from HI-FIVE, the original orthodox R&B group that debuted in 1990, one year before the appearance of the two great groups Boyz II Men and Jodeci, has finally been released! Their single "I Like the Way" (1991), produced by Teddy Riley, who also led legendary R&B groups such as Guy and Blackstreet, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 (the famous dance choreography of EXILE's "Choo Choo Train" is said to have been influenced by the music video for "I Like the Way"). Their second album, "Keep It Goin' On" (1992), featured songwriting by R. Kelly, and other such achievements made HI-FIVE a great R&B group that built the foundation for the R&B scene that continues to this day and has become the object of admiration for many R&B singers and artists!
・I worked with HI-FIVE at the beginning of my career. If they make a great song, it will be great for the R&B scene. Vincent Herbert (Lady Gaga producer)
・HI-FIVE opened new doors for young vocalists Joe (R&B singer/songwriter)
Even after Tony Thompson's death, the sweet R&B DNA continues to be passed down! Beautiful melodies remain unchanged since their debut!
Tony Thompson, the lead vocalist and central member of the group, released his solo album "Sexsational" in 1995, featuring Babyface and Mary J. Blige, and 10 years after releasing his solo album, he released "The Return," a comeback album with HI-FIVE, with all members replaced except for Tony. However, in 2007, news of Tony's death was announced, and HI-FIVE was effectively disbanded. However, after Tony's death, three original members, Marcus Sanders, Treston Irby, and Sharon Gill, returned to the group, and the new Hi-Hi-Five was launched! This masterpiece is sure to delight fans of old-school R&B, with tracks such as the sweet R&B "This Love" by producer Denzel Remedios, who has also worked on songs for SHINee and Girls' Generation, the smooth mid-tempo "Sunshine" reminiscent of Hi-Hi-Five's debut, and the tearjerking slow jam "Everything" by Aaron Liles, a former member of the hip-hop producer team Da Beatminers.
