Monkey House "Left" CD

The long-awaited release from Light Mellow Searches, supervised by Kanazawa Toshikazu! The new album by the greatest Steely Dan follower of today, Monkey House, features Jay Graydon in a super luxurious work!

"Even among the many Steely Dan followers in the world, Monkey House, led by Don Breithaupt, stands out for their soulful and loving respect, and has earned the stamp of approval from members close to the original band. Their first new album in four years has finally arrived (their second in Japan). Participating musicians include Michael Leonhart and Drew Zingg, who were also involved with the original band and participated in the previous album, as well as Jay Graydon, known for the guitar solo on the classic song "Peg," and the talented saxophonist Danny McCaslin, who also appeared on David Bowie's final album, "★." This time, the more organic sound reminiscent of Dan's mid-period is worth listening to." -- Kanazawa Toshikazu

A year has passed since the release of the Japanese version of the masterpiece "Headquarters," which was a hot topic among AOR fans due to its high level of completion. Monkey House, the follower of Steely Dan (SD), one of the best in both name and reality, has completed a long-awaited new album! The previous album was released in Canada in 2012, so this is the first new album in four years. Monkey House is actually a one-man project by Don Breithaupt, a well-known composer, arranger, keyboardist, and singer based in Toronto, Canada. He also has the title of writer and published the SD research book "Aja" (2007). The book, which was introduced in Japan as "Steely Dan Aja: Composition and Lyrics" (DU BOOKS) and received positive reviews, is composed mainly of interviews with Donald Fagen, so Don can be said to be officially recognized by the original SD. This album is packed with the fruits of his four years as a die-hard SD follower, and the musicians who participated have been even more powerful! And while the arrangements have a SD feel to them, the songs that highlight Don's appeal as a pop songwriter have also moved beyond the realm of a follower and into the next stage. This is a fulfilling work that can be said to be the culmination of his musical career, and another masterpiece that all AOR fans must listen to.
