Akkerakans is a two-man band consisting of guitarist Soma and drummer Itokazuo, who mainly perform along the Chuo Line in Tokyo. They run away from easy rock-like sounds, do not evolve, and wastefully operate behind the scenes with evolved degeneration. Under the self-imposed constraints of "no BPM over 120", "as slow as possible", "no loud drums", "avoid using hi-hats as much as possible", and "avoid playing 8-beat as much as possible", they use various effects to cover the minimum guitar and drum arrangement and create extremely unique music. The sound, which is not rock but is rock, is strangely addictive, with eccentric guitar riffs, minimal drums, and eccentric melodies. It is a debut album that is unnecessarily innovative and stimulating, with a hint of new wave and post-punk. ■Akkerakans
A duo band formed in May 2018, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Soma and drummer Itokazuo. After forming, there was a break in their activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and band activities themselves, and although they wrote songs here and there, time passed without them seeing the light of day. They began to play in earnest in August 2022, when they performed at their first event. They are a strange band whose motto is "No BPM over 120/as slow as possible" and "No loud drums/Avoid using hi-hats as much as possible."
