COLA BOYY “PROSTHETIC BOOMBOX” CD

From California! Cola Boy, the most pop and catchy disco-electropop band in the current West Coast indie scene, has released his long-awaited debut album featuring impressive guests such as MGMT and The Avalanches! This refreshing disco tune will brighten up the dance floor and is this summer's biggest masterpiece!

Cola Boy is a singer/multi-instrumentalist based in Oxnard, California, on the west coast of the US. His EP "Black Boogie Neon," released in 2018 by RECORDMAKERS, a label run by Nicolas Godin of AIR, who led the French dance and electro scene in the 2000s, became a hot topic in the club and indie scenes, and he also appeared at the Coachella Festival in 2019. He was also featured as a support act for Mac DeMarco and on the latest album "We Will Always Love You" (2020) by The Avalanches along with Mick Jones of The Clash, attracting attention from many quarters. The release of his first album has finally been decided!

The album opens with the four-on-the-floor French disco "Don't Forget Your Neighborhood" (M1), which brings to mind midsummer pool parties. The album is packed with killer tunes that will have the dance floor shaking from opening to closing, including the outstanding dance-funk number "Roses" (M4), with its 80s neon colors flashing in your head, and "You Can Do It" (M6), with its snappy cutting guitar and groovy bass line that will have you dancing!

This is the most important dance album of the year, featuring a host of super-fantastic artists who have crossed over between scenes, including Nicolas Godin of AIR, the founder of RECORDMAKERS, Mid from Ed Banger, another label that represents the French electro scene, Andrew VanWyngarden from the major label Avalanches and MGMT, and up-and-coming producer/keyboardist John Carroll Kirby, who released his first album last year from STONES THROW! The Japanese version of the CD includes all the songs from their first EP "Black Boogie Neon" released in 2018 as bonus tracks only!
