Nakano Miho "Bones" CD

Singer-songwriter Miho Nakano, who weaves unique scenes with rich melodies, has completed her latest album, "Bones." Her powerful yet supple, somewhat shadowy vocals are a masterpiece that will quietly shake your core.

This album features more personal and introspective songs than her previous work, evoking the subconscious, dreams, and imagination deep within oneself. The result, she says, is a work evocative of the "bone" that remains at the core of oneself after the outer layers have been stripped away. The five tracks include "So Long," a melancholic melody that evokes a cold, fantastical scene reminiscent of her hometown of Hokkaido; "Orange," which weaves together loneliness and love for a relationship with a friend as the years change; "Green Peas," a song that quietly prays for peace in daily life; "Memories of a Mouse," featuring striking swinging piano phrases; and "Vanilla," a song of ambivalent love.
