Marcus D & Shing02 “Copycats” CD
A 1920s HIPHOP anthem from "Shing02", who is well known for his collaboration with Nujabes in the "Luv (sic)" series, and "Marcus D", the legend of jazzy and lo-fi hip hop!
The latest work by Marcus D, a rare beatmaker who connects the era from jazzy hip-hop to lo-fi hip-hop, and Shing02, an MC who expresses a unique worldview with his original lyrics and flow! The title track "Copycats" combines jazzy and mellow sounds with laid-back lo-fi beats, creating a sound style that symbolizes the 1920s scene! As the title suggests, Shing02's lyrics, which cut down fakes with a single stroke, are also a must-listen!
Marcus D and Shing02 recently collaborated on "One People," a track from Melancholy Hopeful, released in 2012 by the official shop "tribe" of the late Nujabes' "hydeout productions." This latest collaboration between the two includes the new song "Copycats," as well as the jazzy hip-hop anthem "Parallel Universe" (2010), the aforementioned "One People" (2012), the digitally-only single "Exxon Mobil" (2016), and the latest version of "Airporter" from the instrumental album "Ryujin no Yume" (2018), with new lyrics added by Shing02. This is a collection of the best works that traces the trajectory of the two artists! The new song "Copycats" also includes three additional versions: an instrumental, an a cappella, and a remix (Jack The Rip Remix)!
