Jagatara2020 "Rainbow-Colored Fanfare" CD

JAGATARA, one of the most important bands in Japanese rock history, has made a miraculous comeback! They've released their first new song in 30 years as Jagatara2020! This giant single includes additional unreleased songs from back then. This is a big deal! Be prepared to tremble!

■JAGATARA is one of the most important bands indispensable to the history of Japanese rock music, which disbanded in 1990 due to the sudden death of the central figure and vocalist, Edo Akemi. They have gathered several times since then, such as for memorial events for Edo, and in March 2019, they made a complete comeback as Jagatara2020 at the legendary event, Tokyo Soy Source. They released a giant single that includes their first new song in 30 years, as well as an additional unreleased song from that time.

■First and foremost, the two new songs are superb. Both were composed by Oto, and "Minna-tachi no Fanfare," with lyrics, lead vocals by Minami Sasuga, is an undeniably fun and festive song that seems to celebrate JAGATARA's restart. "Reiwa Nan no Kochai Ondo," with lyrics, lead vocals by Nagayama Aki of TURTLE ISLAND/ALKDO, is an extremely excellent number that feels like a hybrid of frontier groove and Japanese ondo. Both have a hint of West African music, making them unique to JAGATARA. And what's particularly noteworthy is their freshness. The freshness and lushness that overflows from the entire album is sure to attract not only longtime fans, but also music fans who have never experienced JAGATARA before.

■Oto's carefully selected unreleased songs are also amazing. There is a 1988 live recording of "LOVE RAP," which was a favorite of Edo Akemi, a long version of "Pussy Doctor" from the 1983 EP "Family 100 Views," recorded live in 1989, and "Heiseinan no Kochai Ondo" (unreleased live recording from 1989), in which Edo sings with guitar and Ko Ito of Fools provides chorus (which is moving in itself). Please look forward to it!

■To commemorate the release of this album, a live performance will be held at Shibuya Club Quattro and an event will be held at Shibuya LOFT9.
