Jun Miyake "Siddhartha" Original Soundtrack CD
The original soundtrack for the stage play "Siddhartha" by Jun Miyake, a rare composer who has taken his roots in jazz and done everything he can to cross-breed it, aiming to create music that was missing in the times!
"Siddhartha," the masterpiece of Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse, was born after he visited India after being shocked by the two world wars. The play tackles the question of humankind's future, the direction of the ego, and the very meaning of human existence. Written by Ikue Osada, directed by Akira Shirai, with music by Jun Miyake and starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, the original soundtrack for "Siddhartha" is now available! Field recordings of Indian music, including the voice of a woman praying on the Ganges River and performances and vocals captured at Indian festivals and on street corners, are complemented by performances by virtuoso musicians including Vincent Segal, Constance Luzzati, the elite Parisian strings led by Ayako Tanaka, Masaki Hayashi, Masahiro Itami, and Hitoshi Watanabe, as well as Sanskrit vocals by the performers and Kyoko Katsunuma, creating a multilayered soundscape!
