Takashi "Hotoke" Nagai, Takashi Numazawa, Takashi Nakajo and KOTEZ = blues.the-butcher. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their formation, they have released a new album with guest appearance by Yoko Utsumi!

■blues.the-butcher, one of Japan's leading blues combos consisting of Takashi "Hotoke" Nagai (g/vo), Takashi Numazawa (ds), Takashi Nakajo (b), and KOTEZ (hca/vo), has released their eighth new album, including collaborations with Monsieur Kamayatsu (RIP) and James Gadson.

■The theme this time is Texas, the land of blues. From down-home artists like Lil Saint Jackson and Frankie Lee Sims to modern/jump artists like T-Bone Walker and Gatemouth Brown, we'll cook it all up in the BTB style! With guest Yoko Utsumi (formerly of Mescaline Drive/Soul Flower Union), we'll explore the essence of Texas blues!

■The unique band sound, which combines the ironclad groove created by the super-strong rhythm section of Takashi Numazawa and Takashi Nakajo with the deep blues singing and guitar of Takashi "Hotoke" Nagai and the powerful harmonica and vocals of KOTEZ, is more powerful than ever! The ensemble, which has been honed through an average of more than 50 live shows per year, is now unstoppable. From wild rockin' blues to dynamic jump blues and dried-up country blues, they dye everything with the BTB groove!

■This time, too, it was recorded completely in one take, without any tricks. Experience the special sound created by the recording and mixing of the familiar Naoyuki Uchida (LITTLE TEMPO, OKI DUB AINU BAND, etc.), who knows btb's deep blues groove inside and out.

■The artwork for this album was done by illustrator Taiga Kuhara, who is also known as the "prodigal painter." The illustrations are extremely impactful and express the deep blues world of BTB, resulting in an outstanding design.
