TINARIWEN "Elwan - Elephant" CD
The long-awaited new album from Tinariwen, the evangelist of "Desert Blues", after three years!
The album also features the consciences of the US indie scene, including Kurt Vile! The latest chapter in desert blues, perfectly harmonizing the timeless charm of Tinariwen's bold style with fantastic acoustic beauty!
Tinariwen, who has captivated Tom Yorke, Santana, Robert Plant, Brian Eno, and even Bono, won a Grammy in 2012. With the pride of the Tuareg people in his heart, the fighting charisma that made the desert blues known to the world, Tinariwen has released his first studio album in three years since his previous album, Emmer, in 2014, following the release of the powerful masterpiece live album, Unyielding Spirit: Live in Paris! The previous album attracted attention for its participation by Josh Klinghoffer (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and this time the guest is also a very clever choice. Kurt Vile (Tr. 1 & 11), Matt Sweeney (Tr. 1 & 8), Alan Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, etc.: Tr.8) on guitar, and Mark Lanegan (Queens of the Stone Age, etc.: Tr.11) on vocals. They have a great sense of the nostalgia of American roots music and the loneliness of the nomadic people, so it's no wonder that the Tinariwen sound is a good match, making this a truly worthwhile collaboration. The album was recorded in three locations: Morocco, France, and the United States, and includes the first studio recording of "Tiwayyen," which stood out on the live album. While retaining the familiar charm of Tinariwen's style, with songs with strong grooves like dancing dust and pastoral songs that quietly soak into the heart, the fantastic mood that arises from the rich, three-dimensional sound image makes Tinariwen's sound even more solitary. The overwhelming pinnacle of ``desert blues'' has once again reached a height that will never be matched by anyone else with this album!
