TSUNEMATSU MASATOSHI GROUP "Object of Desire" CD

The second release from the new PASS! Masatoshi Tsunematsu, the guitarist behind Friction's 1980 masterpiece "Kairai," which has left its mark on the history of Japanese rock, is back with a new album, his first in eight years!

Masatoshi Tsunematsu, who orchestrated the golden age of Friction with his trio with Reck (b/vo) and Chico Hige (ds), has returned to his old band PASS to produce his highly anticipated new album, his first since Masatoshi Tsunematsu & VISIONS' 1999 - LUNATIC ANIMAL.
This release is with Masatoshi Tsunematsu's group, with whom he has been working for the past few years, and features Tsunematsu himself on vocals and guitar, along with Jouji Kainuma (b/ex. Machida Machizo + Kitazawa Gumi) and Masataka Fujikake (ds/ZENI GEVA, Shibusa Shirazu).
With this trio at the core, horns are also introduced in some songs, and Tsunematsu's enthusiasm can be felt from the variety of songs.
Backed by an ultra-heavyweight rhythm section, they play a wide range of songs, from fast-paced punk tunes that would delight Friction fans, to straight rock and roll, heavy numbers with a funk vibe, and even abstract ballads, with their guitars cutting in and screaming sharply.
I hope you can sense the spirit of Masatoshi Tsunematsu, who continues to present us with cutting-edge expressions.
