Meaningful Stone『To: HANA』12inch
★First Press Limited Edition
From Korea to Asia and the world! Meaningful Stone, a rising star in the Korean indie scene, paints a gem-like story! Featuring US West Coast indie icon Jay Som as a guest, the album delivers a transparent soundscape where dream pop and indie folk intertwine!
After stepping into new territory with their 2024 second album, "Angel Interview," which was built on a foundation of roaring guitars and alternative rock sounds, Meaningful Stone develops a transparent dream pop and indie folk sound in their latest work, "To: Hana," through beautiful melodies and harmonies, as well as a pleasant band ensemble! With soft vocals, they express the process of being reborn into a new self while layering themes such as belief, hope, and parting.
The opening track "To: Hana" (M1) is a dream pop number with an impressive combination of gentle guitar and expansive soundscape. The following "1+1=0" (M2) is an indie pop track in which US West Coast indie scene representative SSW/producer Jay Som participated in production, arrangement, composition, performance, and recording, and both are finished with a refreshing, floating, and pleasant sound that crosses over US indie and Korean indie. Then, in "Summer, Summer, Summer" (M3), they deliver light indie pop that evokes a poignant summer feeling as the title suggests, and in "Happiness is an angel with a serious face" (M4), they present a tranquil indie folk sound incorporating acoustic guitar and mandolin. Finally, with the light indie rock number "Seoul Station" (M5) that closes the album, it concludes like a letter as indicated by the title of the work "To: Hana," and the result is a work where the worldview Meaningful Stone has built so far has undergone further evolution, sublimating into a global sound that resonates not only in Korea and Japan, but also in the indie scenes of North America and Europe.
