DOUG CARN "Infant Eyes" CD
★2020 latest remaster edition★ Both CD and LP are imported and available for domestic distribution
This is the first masterpiece by Doug Carn, the keyboardist who left the most work on Black Jazz Records. The soulful vocals of his partner at the time, Jean Carn, are also great!
This is the first album by Doug Carn, the keyboardist who has the most work on Black Jazz Records. It features legendary drummer Michael Carvin, who also participated in Pharoah Sanders' live album, George Harper on sax, Bob Frazier on trumpet, and Al Hall and Henry Franklin, who are familiar to the Black Jazz Series, making it a soulful album using a wide variety of instrumental sounds. And the voice of Jean Carn, the singer and ex-wife of Doug Carn, who is the key to his work, has a grandeur and beauty that makes you want to hear it in church, which matches spiritual jazz better than anything else. The second track, "Little B's Poem," is a waltz-like piece that invites you to dance, and the combination of Gene Carn's vocals creates a sense of euphoria, while the title track, "Infant Eyes," features a natural flute, Doug Carn's organ, and Gene Carn's vocals intertwined to create 10 minutes of bliss!
