Only two copies were pressed worldwide in 1972, the ultimate British heavy psychedelic rarity! A moment that reveals the depths of the London Underground, with the addition of previously unreleased tracks that no one had ever heard before, a miracle find!

Formed in 1970 in Islington, north London, Grit were a 'visionary' heavy psychedelic band. The band, led by guitarist Frank "Spider" Martinez, played live and recorded three demos in December 1972, but were never signed to a record label. The band broke up the following summer, 1973, without ever releasing any material. They have long since been forgotten, but in 2015, Hans Pokora, a world-renowned collector of rare psychedelic music, discovered an acetate disc with only two copies pressed (some say three) in the German city of Nomi. The record became the talk of the town when he introduced it in his book '7001 Record Collector Dreams', also known as 'The Pokora Book', as a '6' in the highest rarity ranking. After a search by interested parties and enthusiasts, Martinez was located. This film, using the master tapes in his possession, finally reveals the whole story! Influenced by Cream, Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall, Martinez's fuzzed-out heavy riffs and sharp leads attack, while Jeff Ball's Robert Plant-esque shouts roar through the sound, revealing the band's extraordinary potential. Aggressively pushing 'Shoot the Stake' (M1) and the progressive and ups and downs of 'The Kid and the Drifter' (M2) are the raw gem of 1970s British hard rock, and are powerful masterpieces that need to be heard now more than ever. The album also includes rehearsal material from the band's predecessor, Merlin. The performance, which includes a cover of Danish band Burnin' Red Ivanhoe's 'Across the Window Sill', is more than just a rarity. 'Grit' gives us an anecdote that dives into the deepest depths of British hardcore.
