This is the only solo album by Chicago soul singer Cecil Ride, who has a worldwide following of soul fanatics, and is also regarded as one of the greatest Early 80s modern soul/boogie albums of all time!

Stone Free is the only solo work by Cecil Ride, released in 1980 as a new challenge after relocating to LA after working with big names such as Curtis Mayfield, Shy Lights and Gene Chandler in his native Chicago. The title track 'Stone Free', with its groovy intertwining instrumentation and colourful vocals that combine austere, dandy singing with a sexy falsetto, is the first track, followed by the refreshingly melodic, 80s modern A2 'I'm So Glad I Found'. Your Love' and B1 'Money's Funny' are unparalleled.
