■Phew
A founding member of the legendary art-punk band Arndt Sully, he continued to work as a solo artist after the band's break-up in 1979, releasing a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto in 1980, followed in 1981 by a collaboration with Connie Blank, CAN's Holger Schukai and Since the beginning of 2010, he has released a series of works combining voice and electronic music, and has gained international acclaim as an electronic artist. Pitchfork has described him as a 'Japanese underground legend'. He has also released collaborative works with Ana da Silva (Raincoats), Seiichi Yamamoto (ex. Boredoms), etc. In 2021, his latest solo album, New Decade, was released worldwide on Traffic /Mute; in February 2023, his legendary solo album Our Likeness ( 1992) will be reissued.
